Professor Dr Tomaž Prosen awarded with ERC advanced grant

The European Research Council (ERC) has approved funding for the outstanding research leaders within the ERC advanced grant scheme. Funding has also been approved for the research project entitled »Open Many-body Non-Equlibrium Systems« led by Slovenian researcher Professor Dr Tomaž Prosen. The five-year project will be carried out in the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana. The indicative value of the project is two million euros.

The ERC advanced grant scheme targets researchers who have already established themselves as top independent research leaders. Within the 2015 Advanced Grant call the number of proposals submitted was 1953 of which 270 was approved for funding. Professor Dr Prosen is among three grantees in this ERC call from EU13 countries.

For Slovenia this is a third ERC grant, received by applicants who will implement their ERC grant in research organizations in Slovenia.
